Utah – Zion – Day 1 – July 2nd

Last week we took a few days off and went to three National Parks in Utah.  Zion, Capitol Reef, and Bryce.  We had an amazing time.  The pictures don’t even come close to doing it justice.  Saturday morning we woke up before 5am to get to Zion by 6am.  We wanted to get there to hike the Narrows before the crowds.  We did and it was perfect.  For the first few hours we only saw 3 or four groups of people.  At some points we were hiking alone, in the water, surrounded by huge canyon walls.  I would just stop and look up and be in awe of where I was.  I felt all of my stress and anxiety just melt away.  It is amazing how nature can do that for you!

After a few hours we turned around and then started to run into the throngs of people.  At that moment I was so appreciative that Jeff and I both are willing to get up early and experience this hike in a way that many people will not get too.

Wow – what a long time it has been since I have written.  I needed to take a break and a lot has gone on in the past year.  I received a promotion at my work, which has been awesome, but so much more work than I ever imagined.  I was doing Crossfit, but due to the schedule change I ended up back at 24 Hour Fitness to accommodate my work schedule.  I have run a few races, including a half marathon and I’m sure there has been more and that will come to me in time…
